[tr][td][atrb=valign,top][atrb=style,padding-top: 10px;][classy=title]appearance[/classy][classy=text]cream tabby tom with hazel eyes.
despite his given name of fox, foxwhisker has a lighter pallet of gingers and oranges compared to the common fox's darker reds. from a distance, he looks like a light colored, orange and white, tabby tom. his nose and pads follow suit in this light scheme, taking the color of a soft, light peach. going down his back is a stripe of darker ginger, different from that which covers most of his body, this darker ginger can also be found on the backs of his legs. foxwhisker's eyes are an amazingly dark color, compared to the rest of his body. they are a mixture of brown and green, not the prettiest color, but definitely a mysterious air to them because of the contrast to his fur. compared to most other cats of skyclan, foxwhisker is about average. his hind legs are strong and muscular, built for jumping like the other cats of his clan. two more prominent feature of him, compared to all other cats, are his long whiskers and slightly longer tail.[/classy]
[classy=title]personality[/classy][classy=text]caring | a common trait of most medicine cats, foxwhisker cares for the well-being others, in his clan or not. as a medicine cat, it is his duty to heal those hurt or sick, those in need. "and it is my job to do it whether they like it or not." he often thinks to himself. something that kind of goes hand-in-hand with a trait of being caring is the quality of being 'mother-like', or in his case, 'father-like' to most cats in the clan. at one point or another he will have to heal or tend to every cat in the clan at least once, even for the smallest of things.
kind | though it may had taken him to a while to obtain, foxwhisker has acquired the trait of kindness, something he learned from his mentor, the previous medicine cat of skyclan. through his mentor's teaching, he found that kindness was the best way to work, along with patience. he learned that if you show another patience and kindness they will willingly do whatever you wish for they to do with little struggle and problems, for the most part anyways.
jealous | it was never foxwhisker's initial intentions to become a medicine cat, for he had always wanted to a warrior as a kit. so sometimes he can get a little jealous of warriors, mostly when ones get praise for bringing in prey or chasing off some invader or something of the like, wishing he would be able to get praise in such a way. this jealously can put him into bad moods, making him one not very pleasant to be around. in these moods he can be snappy at other cats, especially taking it out on most apprentices and making them retrieve herbs or moss, or make them go deal with the elders.
temperamental | prior to the teachings of his mentor, foxwhisker had not always been one of the most level-minded of cats, having a temper that could easily flare at any moment. even when first starting his training he had always thought force and aggression was the best way to get a cat, i.e. patient to do as he wished. he would always be in a rather sour mood (you'll see in history why) and would throw temper tantrums that his mentor would have to deal with all the time. though he has learned to be more clan nowadays, at times, when under stress, he can get this way.[/classy]
[classy=title]history[/classy][classy=text]birth | born to two senior warriors of the clan, both known well for their fight ability and technique within the clan. his mother had a near white coat, a mixture of other light colors splashed upon it in the fashion of a calico. his father was a dark ginger tom, something that appropriately fitted his prefix of ember. when born, the young kit had a darker ginger coat than the one he has today, causing his parents to give him the name of fox for it fit the color. (as he got older, the color would slowly fade to what it is today).
kithood | from the get-go, the young foxkit had instantly been fascinated with warriors. due to the timing of his birth, he was the oldest of the kits in the nursery by about a moon, making him slightly bigger than the younger ones, but before even being about to play with other kits, he had always done so with his father. his father would spend time with him just about everyday, play-fighting with him and even teaching foxkit a few tricks that he knew. this only made the tom more and more excited to be an apprentice, and later on a warrior. when the kits in the nursery were old enough to play with him, he would use these tricks on them. it seemed that everyday the kit was growing stronger, bigger, perfect definition of a soon-to-be warrior. it wasn't until about five moons into his little time at life that a great change would happen in his life, and not one very favorable to himself. while playing the other kits, foxkit had gotten a thorn stuck in his pad, then being sent to the current medicine cat to get it pulled out a treated. at this period of his life, he never thought much of medicine cats, never really thinking they were as valuable to clan as were warriors, and therefore not caring much for them. foxkit hadn't been the nicest to the medicine cat as she treated him, but for some reason she found something very interesting about the young kit, something that wished her to test a few things out. so, after that day, the current medicine cat would often request foxkit's mother if the kit could come and help her with a few things. she would put him to work in her den, having him do stuff for her like fix up some herbs and whatnot, and at first foxkit hated it. he resented it so much, often having arguments with the medicine cat and throughout temper tantrums. he wouldn't have admitted it back then, but it was obvious, as the current medicine cat had sensed when first meeting him, that he had a natural talent for the art of healing and caring for the sick and injured. finally, foxkit had reached the age of six moons, happily looking forward to become an apprentice, just one step closer to a warrior, though his last moon helping the current medicine cat stuck in the back of his mind, like a disappointment that he would be unable to do such things ever again. a great surprise came to foxkit as on the morning of his apprenticeship ceremony the current medicine cat had asked to speak with in private. she went on about how she had already talked to both of his parents about everything and they agreed 100% percent with her if she had that much faith and belief in him, and it was then she asked him the question, if he would like to become her apprentice. at first foxkit was a bit surprised, then angry at the fact that she would even request such things of him when he was so sent on becoming it warrior. as he was about to promptly reply with a sharp 'no', something took over him. this was something he was meant for, destined to do, unable to speak, the kit gave the medicine cat a quick nod, indicating yes, before walking away for his ceremony was soon to start and his mother had wanted to groom him prior to it. his ceremony went smoothly as he accepted the position of medicine cat apprentice, shocking everyone, even his parents (for they thought he would surely decline the offer), and became foxpaw.
apprenticeship | the newly appointed medicine cat apprentice had a very rock first moons of his training. he was very temperamental with his mentor, fighting with her about almost everything. most of the time he was very moody, something that made the medicine cat den a place dreaded to visit when one needed to be healed of looked after. despite his temper, he was excellent medicine cat in the making, with a wonderful understanding of the herbs and remedies and a quick memory when it came need to recall on these. really, the only thing that needed work was they way he worked with his patients. when dealing with a patient, foxpaw would be assertive, being sharp and cold to them, demanding rather than asking them to do things. such a strong characteristic as this was hard to break (for it even still lingers in him today), but his mentor was patient. no matter how rough and mean foxpaw was to her, she only showed him kindness. though it took a while, and only progressively happened over time, the young male soon began to understand the final ingredient he was missing the patient and caring part.
medicine cat | at about twenty five moons old, the apprentice foxpaw become the medicine cat foxwhisker, named whisker for his great sense on smell for picking out scent of herbs. at this time, the young medicine cat was not truly the official medicine cat of the clan for his mentor was still alive and would not be able to be unless she had died or was unable to serve the clan. foxwhisker had not expect it come too soon though.. though she was old, the she-cat was strong, both in body and heart, but something things like that can not stop the cold hand of black cough. the clan was lucky enough to keep the sickness contained, but not lucky enough to heal there old medicine cat. it was then at thirty moons that foxwhisker became the new and official medicine cat of skyclan. though he was devastated by the death of his mentor, he knew things must go on and took on his new responsibility with great dignity and respect.[/classy]
